Happy 10 years together, Lab! What an amazing milestone. And of course, happy 6th wedding anniversary to us! Looking back, I still can’t believe how far we’ve come. We’ve been through the good times and the bad times, and I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything.

When I think about where it all started, I can’t help but smile.

Dingalan — where it all began

The very first time I saw you, I told myself, “Magpapaimpress ako. Papapogi ako.” 😂 I really wanted to get your attention. I kept looking at you, not knowing I looked weird, which, as you later told me, was actually true! Hanggang ngayon natatawa pa rin ako dun. But at least, I got your attention.

Looking back now, I know God had His hands all over our story. I thank Him all the time for bringing you into my life.

That morning in Dingalan, I wasn’t even expecting to meet someone. I was so hungover and just needed some fresh air by the shore. Then there you were, the most beautiful person in the whole world.

Without thinking, I just said, “Pssst!”

What a dumb move. 😂

But buti na lang pinansin mo pa rin ako kahit ganun kita tinawag. I don’t know what came over me, but the moment I saw you, I knew I wanted to know you more. I wanted to spend more time with you.

We had that little walk by the beach while we were talking. Honestly, I don’t even remember what we talked about anymore. All I remember is how I couldn’t stop smiling because I was so captivated by your smile and how beautiful you were. Then as I got to know you, I realized you’re even more beautiful on the inside. Everything just felt so easy with you. We just clicked.

After that trip, I didn’t even have your number or know your full name. Good thing Meng came to the rescue! Thank you, Meng! 😂

Then came one of the happiest moments of our story.

Back where we first met

With the help and support of our amazing family, I was able to plan the proposal. We went back to the exact place where we first met. We even hiked again just to see how beautiful everything was. It felt like we were reliving the day that started it all.

Then we walked back to the same beach where we first talked.

Standing there with the person I can’t imagine living without, I knew it was time.

I got down on one knee and finally asked the question I had been waiting to ask.

“Will you marry me?”

And then you said…

Grabe. That was one of the happiest moments of my life. We were engaged!

Not long after that, we had our intimate wedding in 2020, and you officially became my wife.

Fast forward to today.

Our little family 🦖🦕

We moved to Canada.

We welcomed Matty and Toby into our lives.

Life is so different now. We started as just the two of us, and now we’re parents to our two little dinos. 🦖🦕

Watching you become a wife and an amazing mom has made me love you even more. Ang dami na nating pinagdaanan, pero hindi ka pa rin nagbabago. Ikaw pa rin yung Janine na minahal ko all those years ago.

I just want you to know that mahal na mahal kita. More than you’ll probably ever realize.

I know marriage isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s hard to keep every promise we made on our wedding day. That’s why I think vows shouldn’t just be beautiful words. They should be something we choose to live out every single day.

So today, I want to make these promises to you again.

Lab, I’m so excited for everything that’s still ahead of us. I really believe our best years are still waiting for us.
